Cosmion is a research and decision-support platform. It reads the space-biology evidence, screens our strains, designs and checks peptides, simulates missions and ranks our pipeline, with a confidence range on every prediction.

Its predictions guide what we test. They are not proof that a product works.

Space Evidence Engine

  • Cited answers only. Every statement links to its source paper, dataset or patent, down to the sentence.
  • Evidence grading. Findings tagged by study type, organism, duration and setting, so a mouse study is never confused with a crew study.
  • Contradiction detection. Flags where studies disagree instead of averaging them away.
  • Living review. PubMed and NASA OSDR re-checked on a schedule, with changes highlighted.

Strain Intelligence

  • Whole-genome safety screen for resistance, virulence, toxin genes and mobile elements.
  • Metabolic reconstruction with genome-scale models.
  • Community simulation against gut, skin or oral microbiomes.
  • Spore and stress profile for dry storage and radiation.

Peptide and Protein Design Studio

  • Structure prediction with several models, compared rather than taken from one tool.
  • Generative sequence design for stability and function.
  • Developability checks: aggregation, protease-cleavage sites, predicted immunogenicity.
  • Integrated with Theertha Biopharma's peptide know-how, so designs are checked against what can be manufactured.

Mission Simulator

  • Radiation transport for Moon, Mars-transit and surface scenarios, including packaging and habitat shielding.
  • Five-year storage modelling: temperature cycling, humidity and degradation kinetics, run as many randomised trials.
  • Test-design output: the exact ground-test conditions the laboratory should run.

Uncertainty on every prediction

Every result carries a confidence range, not a single number. An applicability flag warns when a candidate is too far from anything the models were trained on, so we know when not to trust a prediction.

Experiment Planner

Chooses the next experiment that would teach us the most using Bayesian optimisation, so fewer laboratory runs reach a decision. It learns from every result, including failures.

Pipeline Optimiser

Scores each product on evidence, technical risk, cost to test, regulatory path and mission relevance, and shows why a product is ranked where it is and what new data would change the ranking.

Full traceability

Every output records the data version, model version and settings used, so any result can be reproduced and audited. Built toward data-integrity standards expected in regulated development, with audit trails and role-based access.

Open interfaces for laboratory notebooks and instrument data, standard shareable formats, and private deployment so partner and laboratory data stay in a secured environment.

How we prove it works

Capability claims need evidence.

  • Look-back testing. Cosmion predicts the outcomes of experiments already published, such as spaceflight probiotic-survival studies, without being shown the answers. We measure how often it is right.
  • Prospective testing. We register predictions before running our own laboratory experiments, then compare.
  • External review. We plan to invite independent scientists to review the methods and results.
  • Open reporting. We intend to publish validation results, including where Cosmion is wrong.

Performance targets will be published once validation is complete.
